Assistant Professor Yoshiko SAITOH

*Profile

Yoshiko Saitoh was born and grew up in Tokyo. While she had studied materials science at University of Tokyo, she was also awarded the teaching license of mathematics at junior/senior high school. After she finished her Ph.D in Materials science, she became a special post-doctoral fellow at RIKEN.

While in RIKEN, she decided to change her research field to science and technology studies (STS) and moved her position to a National Institute of Science and Technology Policy (NISTEP) research fellow.

In 2003, she joined a group of Center for Technology and Society (CTS), which was the newly established center at National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST). After CTS has closed along with institutional reform, she has kept working on science and technology issues, such as human resources, communication, ethics, literacy, etc. at several research organizations.

Since April 2006, she has just started her studies in Higher Education and Science & Technology at CSHE in Nagoya University.
